It works by verifying check information and flagging suspected unauthorized, altered or counterfeit checks. Suspected fraud checks are labeled as exceptions for your review through our digital banking platform.

Positive Pay in 3 Simple Steps

STEP 1

Write a check and send us the following details through your online banking account:

Check number
Check amount
Payee name
Issue date

STEP 2

We will compare the file of your issued checks against the checks that clear your account(s), matching up the check number, check date, amount, and payee.

STEP 3

We will notify you via email if the information you sent doesn’t match the check we receive. You then decide if you would like us to pay or return that payment.

Is Reverse Positive Pay Better For You?

If you handwrite or have a low volume of checks, Reverse Positive Pay may be a better fit for you. This tool flips the standard Check Positive Pay process; instead of sending us a list of issued checks, we send you a list of checks that have been presented for payment. You get to review each check and decide what should be paid or returned.
